Chiang Mai Academics

Mr. James Kateley

History

James received his honours degree in Teaching English as a Second Language and History from the University of Sunderland before pursuing a postgraduate certificate of education at the University of Northumbria in the UK.
He has taught various subjects and levels of students in England and South East Asia for the last 14 years, but has always had a particular passion for the humanities subjects and their quest to make some sense of the ever changing world we live in. He is very excited to have the opportunity to share this with his classes at SIBS through a student-centred, inclusive and inquiry based learning environment. To facilitate this,he intends to foster open, honest, respectful and considerate relationships with students and staff.
In his free time he enjoys cooking, reading, swimming and is determined to join one of the local gyms this year.
He is very much looking forward to working with you all and contributing to the ongoing success of SIBS Chiang Mai!
