Mr. Thornton has graduated with an Advanced Diploma of Horticulture, a Bachelor of Science, a Master of International Relations and most recently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. He has lived in Chiang Mai for 5 years where he has developed his career in teaching, working in number of schools across Chiang Mai. He has taught Maths, Science and English. Passionate about sustainability, he has also worked in Chiang Mai to implemented sustainability measures for local businesses.

Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Mr Thornton worked for over a decade in environmental and sustainability at various levels of Government. There he developed, wrote and implemented policy and strategic frameworks.

In Chiang Mai, he lives with his 2 daughters and enjoys watching sport, listening to music and baking homemade sourdough bread, cultivated from his much loved sourdough starter.
