Mr. Phil Edwards

Lower Secondary English and Math

Mr. Edwards acquired his Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York: The College at Brockport in Journalism and Broadcasting. In his final semester of University, he was one of five students selected for an exchange program at Mahidol University in Salaya, Nakhon Pathom. He was involved in Mahidol’s social outreach initiatives, in which students volunteered in local Thai communities by teaching English and planting trees.
After his experience in Thailand, he became a substitute teacher for the New York State Board of Education. Working as a substitute teacher gave him the confidence to teach multiple subjects. He worked as a substitute teacher at his former Middle School, then returned to Thailand to work with a non-profit organization. Chuaydek, the non-profit, raised funds and awareness for impoverished children. Mr. Edwards contributed by creating media content for the organization. For four years, he has taught at Suankularb Wittayalai School (1 year), Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin (2 years), and now SIBS CNX (just over a year).
His teaching philosophy is simple; build rapport with students and interactively teach lessons. Clear communication is an integral aspect of learning and teaching. The first hurdle should be finding a way to communicate clearly with students, so be open to receiving knowledge. Phil enjoys photography, hiking, movies, anime, art, and music.
